Review: Samsung Chromebook 3

I purchased the Samsung Chromebook 3 recently on Black Friday. I bought it for use as my computer in high school and college. So far I have used it for about 5 days. I have used it to edit google docs, listen to music on spotify, read the news, and study for quizzes on various topics. It has performed very well even when I am multitasking. The keys are a nice size and are good to type on. The Samsung Chromebook 3 has an 11.6 inch screen and 2gb of ram. The Chromebook also turns on very fast even when it has been fully shut down. The Chromebook also does not have a wide variety of apps and so far can only download applications from the chrome web store. However, the Chromebook is ideal for use in schools and colleges because most of the work that is done currently is done online in Google applications. I recommend the chromebook to people that need a computer that is secure and people that do most of their work online. I would not recommend the chromebook to people that need a lot of downloaded applications. All in all, I rate the chromebook 4.7 our of 5 because the chromebook is lacking in a few features such as an equivalent of the hot corners setting on Macbooks and the ability to have multiple desktops and the ability to swipe between them. Overall, the chromebook is a great computer that is fast and fairly cheap.

  1. Which one would you rather have: a Chromebook or a macbook? Nice description!

    1. Definitely a MacBook. Chromebooks are cool but you can't actually install apps on them. The app store and all possible apps are on the Chrome Web Store, which is very limited. Also this Chromebook isn't the fastest and if you had to get a chromebook, I would recommend a chrome book with at least 4 gigabytes of RAM instead of this chromebook's 2GBs of RAM. RAM is a way of measuring the speed of a computer. Our school computers have from 4 to 8 GB, I can't find which. Thanks.

  2. I totally agree on the Macbook. The chromebook is what I am going to be getting to do work on, and is just suitable for the needs of someone doing work, not anything else.

  3. Interesting but this seems a little off topic.

Petzl Saka Climbing Chalk Bag Review

The chalk bag filled with chalk When you are doing rock climbing or bouldering many people use chalk. People use chalk to make their hands less sweaty and improve their grip. When most people are climbing they bring a chalk bag filled with chalk in case they have to use chalk mid-climb. If you are going bouldering, most people bring a large chalk bucket that is meant to be left on the ground. This chalk bag is medium sized and is made with a fairly strong material. This chalk bag is made by the climbing supplies company Petzl. The inside of the chalk bag is soft on the top and on the bottom is a similar material to the outside. On the right side of the bag there are 2 chalk brush slots. The bag is designed to be able to be opened with one hand if you forget to open it before climbing. The belt is adjustable and the bag can be used without a climbing harness. This is useful if you want to use it while bouldering. I am currently using this bag when climbing and it works great. ...

Deuter ACT Zero 50+15

I was given this pack 2 years ago for christmas and have used it on countless trips since. This pack has a lot of room for gear but the pack it self weighs very little. The top part of the pack can be removed and turned into a small summit pack. I use that feature when I want to bring a daypack but don't want to have to bring a whole new pack. This pack is also compatible with most hydration reservoirs. This is a very high quality pack and my only complaint is the lack of sleeping pad/tent straps (This feature is added in the newer version of the pack.) Some pics I took of the pack: The front of the pack without the top on  The back of the pack without the top on The top of the pack converted to the summit pack The back of the pack with the top on

What is Randonneuring?

Randonneuring is long-distance, unsupported riding where riders attempt routes of 200 km or more. Riders have to check in at checkpoints called "controls" along the route. Sometimes riders can get food and water at checkpoints. Some events have riders use cards called "Brevet Cards" that get stamped at each checkpoint. These are to make sure riders use the correct route and do not cheat by skipping ahead. In general, randonneuring events are more for the ride than for the race. This means that the riders are, in general, more interested in the ride itself rather than winning the event. All in all, randonneuring is a fun sport that is more for the enjoyment of the journey rather than the glory of the podium.  A randonneuring bike with fenders, a basket, and road handlebars.
